V.M. Chumarev, Yu.M. Chvalinsky, A.V. Larionov, S.M. Pikalov, D.V. Taranov
In experimental-industrial conditions the principal possibility of processing of the V-Al alloys in a nitrogen plasma has been shown. The reactor with a capacity up to 7,0 kg/h to nitride the material by the plasma-chemical method has been developed and tested. It was found that a product with a nitrogen content up to 12.0 wt. % suitable for introduction into the mixture for the aluminothermic smelting of ligatures for structural titanium alloys can be yield by plasma-chemical treatment of powders of V(65-74)-Al alloys.

A.S. Kudryavtsev, E.V. Chudakov, N.V. Tretyakova, V.P. Kulik, M.O. Leder, A.V. Berestov
The structure and mechanical properties of titanium pseudo-β-alloy VST 5553 rolled metal (plates in the thickness of 100 mm) after hardening heat treatment in different modes are studied. The possibility of obtaining of a high complex of physical and mechanical properties in combination with a reduced sensitivity to corrosive environment is shown for deformed semi-finished products of the big thickness used in marine engineering, by means of selection of the optimal heat treatment regime.

Structure, mechanical and ballistic properties formation in heat-treated sheets of VST2 alloy with various compositions
A.G. Illarionov, A.V. Zloba, M.O. Leder, S.I. Stepanov, А.V. Berestov, A.A. Popov
The relationship between the percentage reduction in area, the primary α-plane width and the armor ballistic tests score of heat-treated sheets of VST2 alloy was established. The limitations on the aluminum equivalent were determined for the sheets of VST2 alloy under investigation which allowed us to obtain a relevant ballistic score for the armor use.

Influence of structure on creep mechanisms in alloys based on titanium nickelide
D.E. Gusev, M.Yu. Kollerov, A.A. Sharonov
In this paper, was investigated the processes of short-term creep under torsional strain in two titanium nickelide-based alloys containing 54.7 and 55.7 wt. % Ni, respectively. The tests were carried out in an air atmosphere on wire samples without preliminary heat treatment and after annealing (700°C, 1 hour) at deformation temperatures of 450 and 500°C. Estimation of the contribution of various mechanisms of creep on the plastic strain accumulation processes was made. It is shown that one of the main mechanisms of creep is sliding along the grain boundaries.

Microstructure and thermomechanical properties of powdered titanium under elevated temperatures
L.I. Kuksenova, A.A. Shiryaev, V.I. Savenko, A.I. Malkin
X-ray diffraction is used to study temperature evolution of phase composition, microstructure and thermo-mechanical properties of industrial titanium powder during thermal cycling in the temperature region 25–700°C. It is found that the thermal cycling leads to change of volume ratio of the α-titanium and its nitrides, carbides and oxides present in the initial powder. It is shown that the temperature changes are accompanied by processes of ordering/disordering of nitrogen, carbon and oxygen interstitial atoms in the respective sublattices of the phases.

Production and application of HDH titanium alloy powder from alloyed titanium sponge
T.B. Yanko, A.V. Ovchinnikov
The paper shows the features of manufacturing products from titanium alloys by various methods. It is shown the advantages of titanium alloy powder production made of alloyed sponge titanium by means of the hydride-dehydride (HDH) process. New technological solutions for the use of the hydrogen cycle in the production of titanium alloy powders are presented.

Yakovlev A.L., Nochovnaya N.А., Putyrskiy S.V., Krokhina V.А.
In the following article VT22 alloy and its modifications (VT22I, VT22D, VT22M) are explored. The alloy history, its usage and perspectives are described. Advantages and disadvantages are described in the article. Comparison on characteristics of alloys VT22M, VT22 and analogous alloy VST-5553 is made. Advantages of VT22M over alloys in comparison is determined. Presented data allows to state that it is mostly perspective to use alloy VT22M in modern aviation constructions for welding power details. Current investigation has been performed within the framework of complex scientific direction 9.2 « Materials on the base of titanium with regulated β-structure» «Strategic Directions of Materials Development and Their Processing Technologies for the Period up to 2030».

High strength antifriction carbon plastics named UGET-TN and FUT-N were developed for a longtime work in water and oil over counter bodies made of titanium alloys. Strength and tribological properties of new carbon plastics during friction in water are discussed, and some examples of their application in ship machinery are given.
