The silicide particles formation in the heat-resistant titanium alloys
A. Popov, S. Demakov, M. Popova, N. Rossina, O. Elkina
The silicide particles formation in the heat-resistant titanium alloys has been discussed. It was shown that depending on the temperature-time parameters of treatment (Ti, Zr)5Si3 (S1) particles are formed primarily at interface α/β boundaries, and (Ti, Zr)6Si3 (S2) and (Ti, Zr)2Si (S3) particles are formed in the α-phase. The effect of the silicide particles on the α2-phase has been analyzed.

The structure and properties of titanium alloyed by oxygen from the oxygen-containing ligature, gas phase and titanium oxide powder during chamber electroslag remelting of titanium sponge are investigated. Found that at the oxygen content of 0.053% to 0.22%. in the metal formed a homogeneous single-phase structure that typical for commercial titanium which formed by polyhedral grains of α-phase. The increasing of the oxygen concentration in titanium more than 0.22% leads to the formation of the microstructure, which has typical needle structure, which allows to classify it as α'-phase.
It is shown that in equilibrium (annealed) condition it is occur the formation of an inhomogeneous solid solution of oxygen in a-Ti.

Electron-beam ingots surface remelting for compound doped titanium alloy T110
S. Akhonin, O. Pikulin., V. Berezos
The possibility for nonwaste deletion of local surface defects from the surface of ingots of alloy of titan T110 by the method of electron beam surface remelting, which allows to shorten the losses of basis metal and alloying elements, is shown, that provides a considerable economic effect. Quality of remelting surface of ingots from alloy of titan T110 and forged pieces, which made from an ingots with remelted surface, is studied.

Increasing a tool-life of twist drills in machining of titanium alloys by electrical insulation
V. Pegashkin, V. Golubev, V. Medison
The paper presents the method of increasing a tool life, which consists in the electrical isolation of the cutting tool off the machine. There is a critical evaluation of existing technical implementations of this method. The author's way of improving the tool life, which consists in using the auxiliary tool made from the titanium alloy on the surface of which the oxide layer with dielectric properties was made by thermal oxidation, is described. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown on the example of drilling titanium alloy.

Medico-technical justification for the titanium alloys use in implanted constructions for the stabilisation of the spine
М. Kollerov, V. Usikov, V. Kuftov, D. Gusev, E. Oreshko
An analysis has been made to reveal the influence of a material type and the geometry of longitudinal rods on the characteristics of transpedicular apparatus, used for stabilization of the spine. It has been shown that the most adequate mechanical behavior of the apparatus is achieved when using rods of titanium alloys (VT6) and those of nitinol (alloy TN1). The first should be used in the case of traumas of a spine, and the second - with treat degenerate and dystrophic diseases.
